Safety Harbor Grapefruit & Gazebo Long Sleeve Tee | Florida Local Shirt
Where Florida's grapefruit story begins.
This soft, lightweight long sleeve tee pairs a grapefruit illustration on the front with a detailed, original sketch of Safety Harbor, Florida's iconic gazebo on the back. It's a two-sided tribute to the small town where the Florida grapefruit story is said to begin.
The Grapefruit Story
In 1842, a French settler named Odet Philippe established a plantation on the shore of Old Tampa Bay, in what is now Safety Harbor. He is credited with introducing citrus to the Tampa Bay region and is believed to be the first person to cultivate grapefruit in Florida. His former plantation is now Philippe Park, Pinellas County's first park, and his legacy is part of what makes Safety Harbor's roots so special.
Whether you're a longtime local, a proud resident, or someone who fell in love with this town on a visit, it's an easy way to carry a little piece of Safety Harbor with you.
